Organza
A sheer, crisp, light cloth in plain weave from fine, tightly twisted yarn, in silk or polyester.
Also: silk organza, organza saree
Organza is a thin plain-weave cloth that is sheer yet crisp, so it holds a shape instead of falling flat. In silk organza the stiffness comes from the gum left in the thread, and in polyester organza from the fibre and finishing. The cloth catches light with a faint sparkle. Organza sarees stand out in the pleats and the pallu and are often decorated with embroidery, zari, or print. The Banarasi kora organza is one of the well known silk organza sarees. It creases and can be scratchy, so it is often worn with a soft lining.
