How complete is Pallu?
Nobody has a full list of the world's sarees. Many weaves have never been written down, and many villages have their own. So Pallu shows its working.
Where the list comes from
Every item that Wikidata classes as a saree, a drape or a traditional textile and that has an English Wikipedia article; every article under Wikipedia's saree, Indian textile and Geographical Indication (textile) categories; and our own list of the sarees, weaves and drapes each region is known for, so that small centres are not crowded out by large ones.

Country overviews written: 19 of 24. Photos: 109 of 161 sarees have a free-licence photo; the rest show a drawing until one is found. Also written by hand: 44 drapes, 67 weaving centres, 99 wear days and 182 glossary terms.
New pages are written every day, best documented first. Wikidata and Wikipedia are re-read every week for sarees added since.

If you know a saree we should add, write to pallu@cleartrust.cc.
