Also: Kota doriya, Kota cotton, Kota masuria
Kota doria is woven in and around Kota, in Rajasthan, in a village called Kaithoon among other places. It is made from fine cotton yarn along with some silk, and it has a pattern of small squares, called khats, made by an open weave. The cloth is light, nearly transparent, and stays cool, which makes it right for the dry heat of Rajasthan. Many sarees are lightly dyed or printed and edged with a zari border. Kota doria has a Geographical Indication. It is usually woven on a pit loom.
