Also: Silk Mark label, Silk Mark hologram

The Silk Mark is a label, with a hologram, attached to products made of pure natural silk. It is issued by the Silk Mark Organisation of India, which works under the Central Silk Board, a government body. It guarantees that the cloth is natural silk and not a blend or synthetic, and it covers mulberry, tussar, muga and eri. The label is meant to help buyers, as fake silk is common. The tag shows the code of the maker or seller. It does not say that a saree is handwoven, since powerloom silk can also carry it.
