Blouse piece
A length of cloth sold with the saree, meant to be stitched into the blouse.
Also: blouse material, running blouse
Most sarees come with a blouse piece, a short length of cloth cut or left uncut at the end of the saree, intended for the blouse. It is usually a little under a metre long. In some handloom sarees the blouse piece is woven in the same pattern and in the same colours as the saree and is marked on the loom, so that it matches the body or the pallu. In others it is a separate cloth sold with the saree. Buyers take it to a tailor, who stitches it to their measurements. A running blouse is a blouse piece that is part of the same cloth as the saree.
