What is worn for Mysuru Dasara

Dasara is the state festival of Karnataka, and Mysuru is its showpiece. It runs for ten days from the first day of Navaratri and ends on Vijayadashami with a procession from the Mysuru Palace in which an image of the goddess Chamundeshwari is carried on an elephant. The palace, lit up each evening, hosts music and dance programmes, and the town fills with exhibitions and craft stalls. Mysore silk, a light crepe silk with a plain body and a fine zari border, is the saree most closely linked with the city, and many families buy one for the season. Women attending concerts and puja commonly wear silk.

The sarees

Also part of it, and being written: Mysore silk (Crepe silk of Karnataka with a plain field and a zari border, tied to the city.).
